7th Grade English Students Participated in Presidential Candidate Debate

As an introduction to an expository essay unit of study, students researched presidential candidates to determine which candidate, in their opinion, was best suited for the Office of President of the United States. The project culminated with students writing an expository essay in which each student stated his/her stance as well as a presidential debate and mock election held on Tuesday, November 8th. 722 students and staff members participated in the mock election with Trump taking the win with 55% of the casted votes.

Orchestra Announces All Region Members

Forty-five 7th and 8th grade orchestra students recently competed at All Region auditions with neighboring districts such as Longview, Tyler, Texarkana and Sulphur Springs. KMS had 12 students accepted into the orchestra and many more very close. Job well done to all who worked up the music and auditions. Congratulations to Kaleb Sanderson for bass; Efrain Mojica, Carly Mauldin and Jolie Morales for cello; Jessica Sanjuan and Emma Taylor for violin; and Grace Vasquez, Cristina Rosas, Ciara Guyton, Stevie Rounsavall, Bryan Godinez and Jacob Taylor for Viola.
